That’s nuts! For even more dimension, try
Quik Lidz with a fade. Way super dope.

before painting, so they’re scuff- and tear-proof. You can spray one color behind them,
or use them instead of a stripe to separate
two colors for a really custom look.

how to: paint a 2-color body
STEP 6: PAINT THE DARKER COLOR
Shake the can for about a minute to fully mix the paint, then head outside to spray. Don’t
paint in an enclosed room, especially a basement with an oil burner or other flame
source that could ignite fumes. Hold the can about 6 to 8 inches from the shell and
move smoothly over the area you’re painting. Don’t spray the paint on too thick; two or
more light coats is better than one heavy coat.
STEP 7: PEEL OFF THE MASKING AND
SPRAY THE LIGHTER COLOR
If the masking tape leaves
behind any residue, use denatured or isopropyl alcohol to
clean it off. Also be careful not
to lift off the window masks if
any of the tape is stuck to
them. With the masking
removed, you can spray the
entire body with the lighter
color. In this case, we’re using

STEP 8: ADD A STRIPE
You can cut stripes from model airplane trim sheets, but the easiest (there’s that word
again) way is to get a roll of Pactra Trim Tape. It comes precut in different widths and a
bunch of colors, and the stretchy vinyl conforms to curves nicely. Just put the tape over the
line where the two colors meet, and watch the colors really come to life. Bonus: the tape
will also cover any ragged edges where the masking may not have quite stuck down.
Pactra striping tape is thin and flexible, perfect for RC car bodies.
Ta-dah! The stripe and a
