HOT CHASSIS
The Hot Racing graphite chassis is the
bomb. It’s a double-deck design with 1mm
woven carbon-fiber upper and lower chassis plates separated by aluminum standoffs
and the front bulkhead. A door swings open
on the side of the chassis to allow the battery to be quickly inserted or removed, and
a spring mechanism keeps the door locked
Ttight to prevent the battery pack from ejecting during hard driving. The stock battery
and optional LiPo battery pack fit snugly
LPROOJSECIT MICRO- but securely in the battery compartment.
The chassis is designed to accommodate the stock electronics, and you have a
HOT MODS FROM HOT RACING couple of choices for mounting the elec- tronics. The steering servo drops into a slot
between a pair of aluminum servo mounts,
much like how the servo installs in the
The completed chassis stock chassis. The chassis set includes
is far more rigid than the
stock chassis, and it will heat-shrink material to wrap over the PC
make any Micro-T look board, so it can be taped to the upper deck
trick. The chassis is to reduce weight. You can also mount the
available with blue- or
silver-anodized-alu- stock molded PC cover on the chassis as I

The Losi Micro-T is a fun little truck. Its
small size allows you to race it indoors, outdoors and just about anywhere; I even pack
my truck in my luggage and take it with me
when I travel so I can scoot it around at the
hotel. To build the ultimate in portable high-performance RC, I decided to outfit my
Micro-T with a Hot Racing graphite chassis
and other hop-ups from Hobby Etc. This is
phase 1 of Project Micro-T; the next phase
involves upgrading the electronics,
installing aftermarket wheels and tires and
some other accessories that I have my eye
on. You’ll see more of this truck in a future
edition of Mini Zone, but I think I’m off to a
good start.
