Kyosho 1⁄43-scale dNaNo ❯❯ This is one of the most inno-
vative RC products we’ve seen in years. It’s impressive
enough that the dNaNo is 1⁄ 43 scale and fully functional, but
Kyosho adds a built-in lap counter with unique ID number.
After a race, you will be able to review lap times and access
information on the entire life of the car. A LiPo battery is sold
separately as part of a starter set that includes the pack,
2.4GHz transmitter and charger. An optional light set will be
available, and ports on the chassis allow for a traction con-
trol unit to be plugged in. The innovations continue with the
dNaNo’s computer interface capability that allows driving
profiles can be customized. Eight highly detailed bodies will
be available with the dNaNo’s release, with many more
designs to follow.

FIRST PICS OF HYPER 9!
Tim Bump heads up the Hyper Racing division at OFNA and has been
working closely with the HoBao engineers on the design of the Hyper 9,
which is the car Team HoBao will field at the IFMAR 1⁄8-Scale Off-Road
World Championships. The Hyper 9 will be the first car designed
entirely by OFNA. The buggy featured here is a prototype, but its inno-
vative features are easy to spot.
The engine is leaned
inward 25 degrees,
which allows it to be
mounted closer to the
centerline. The engine
is one of the heaviest
components, and hav-
ing it mounted in the
center provides an
almost perfect left-to-
right weight ratio. In
fact, OFNA claims that
the left-to-right ratio is
1:1 when the fuel tank
is half full.
