Mini-Z battery terminal maintenance
Joseph Marquez ❯❯ Houston, TX
You should check your Mini-Z’s negative battery terminals every few
runs and bend the tabs outward to ensure that the batteries fit tightly.
A loose-fitting battery can cause
all kinds of glitch-ing, power loss
Neat wire routing
Jonathan Parker ❯❯ New Milford, CT
Short, 2mm lengths of fuel tubing work great for
keeping your servo and speed control wires bun-
dled together. Use needle-nose pliers to stretch
open the piece of fuel tubing, and then slip the
tubing over the wires to hold them in place.
Get organized before you build
Martin Jimenez ❯❯ Plano, TX
Kits have several bags of fasteners with different types of
screws, nuts, E-clips and setscrews. To make building
the kit easier and less confusing, empty each bag
into a container and place the header card
in the container with the screws.
Goggle-box tire caddy
Andrew Pearson ❯❯ Elk River, MN
The plastic containers that many
goggles come in make great caddies
for storing 1⁄ 8 buggy or truggy tires.
They’re great for storing tires for
different tracks, and they can be
easily stacked up and stored in
your pit box. Ski, snowboard,
and power sports shops usually
have empty boxes lying in their
back rooms that they might give away.
Stay-put wheel nuts
Joseph Atherton ❯❯ Sacramento, CA
Scoring, slotting, or roughing up the ends
of your wheel nuts will make them
grab onto the rim better and prevent them from coming loose.
Skyler Stevenson ❯❯ Scottsdale, AZ
Never install a receiver inside a radio box without
padding. Wrap the foam packing material from your
speed control or an old tire insert around your
receiver to protect it from vibration.
