Kyosho Mini-Z
performance tricks
I am having a lot of fun with my
Kyosho Mini-Z. I have the MR-02 chassis,
and I bought a couple of different bodies to
change things up, but now I would like to
tinker with its performance. What should I
start with to improve my Mini-Z that is not
too involved or might break the bank?

Team Orion
900HV or
1100RT
NiMH
rechargeable AAA
batteries are
a sure-fire
way to up
the performance of a
Kyosho
Mini-Z.
Here are two things to start with to improve
the handling of a Kyosho Mini-Z. First,
replace the rear friction shock with the
optional oil-filled shock (MZW207) from
Kyosho. In stock trim, the rear end will hop
around because there is not enough damping. By installing the oil-filled shock, the rear
will stay planted, and that translates into
improved handling. It only costs approximately $15 and it is super easy to install. Next,
pick up a set of Team Orion AAA NiMH
rechargeable batteries. Two versions are
available: the 900HV for increased punch and
the 1100RT for longer run time. Regardless of
which type you choose, you will see
increased performance with your Mini-Z.
