The machines in the middle are called Pick and Place machines. They pick the tiny electronic components up off the feeder reels and then place them, very precisely, into the solder paste on the panels. These machines can place tens of thousands of parts an hour. The long machine to the far right is a big oven used to heat the panels and melt the solder.

Shipping

Each board now passes by an optical scanner that checks to make sure each part has a solid solder joint. If needed, a technician at the end of the production line will make any repair to the board by hand. From here, the panels are broken down into smaller panels so technicians can solder all wires and other components that the machines could not do onto the boards by hand.

The controllers now go to final assembly area where each one is connected to a power supply for calibration and then a test run is performed. After passing all of the calibration tests, the controllers are finally packaged up and shipped out to the various dealers. I noticed very little stock in their warehouse, and that is because the demand is so high for Castle ESCs that the minute they come off the production line, they are immediately shipped out to the dealers.
