O.S. .12TG VER.II
O.S., the manufacturer of world-class
engines, has broken out with a nice
little . 12 engine at a great price. ;e
O.S. .12TG Ver.II is the perfect engine
to get your 1/10-scale gas truck up
and running again. One of the best
classes of racing I ever participated in
and one of the most fun RC vehicles I
ever drove was a 1/10-scale gas truck
and when I saw this engine it was the
first thing I thought of. I couldn’t wait
to get to my house and bolt it up and
revive my favorite vehicle.
Since this engine was designed for
the stadium truck class, installing it
was super easy and straightforward.
Using the manual, I got the engine
broken in no time. During break-in, I
could tell that I was going to like this
engine and once break-in was done, I
was certain of that. ;e Ver.II idled super smooth and would clear right out,
making for smooth consistent acceleration. I was definitely all smiles as
I kept refueling and running laps until
the gallon of fuel I had was empty. ;e
engine was meant to run from 10%
to 30% nitro-methane so I ran some
20% that I had around the shop with
the supplied glow plug. ;e engine ran
very smooth all day. Fuel consumption was very good considering I was
having so much fun letting this thing
rip.
Knowing that a 1/10-scale gas
truck was a more budget-minded
class, this engine’s price range is
perfect. With the engine’s included
slide carb two-year warranty, all for
under $200, you really can’t beat the
O.S .12TG. It’s reliable and has power
to spare. Runtime was very good for
me and I could have gotten about 10
minutes if I wanted to push it as far as
running low on fuel. ;is is definitely
the engine to get that old stadium gas
truck o; the shelf and back out having fun. –Tom Epting

PRO;LINE RACING PIT MAT
Since the beginning of time, RC racers have been chastised and berated by the
significant female figures in their lives for abusing perfectly good bath towels and
using them to protect their pit tables against the chemicals, oils, greases, and tools we use on our cars. ;ose
mothers, wives, and girlfriends often don’t recognize
that the towels stop us from making bigger messes
and prevent hard ware from rolling o; the table, but
they’ll surely understand why Pro-Line’s pit mat is an
improvement over that dirty rag you keep tossing in
the laundry despite its propensity to make everything
else dingy. At 17 inches by 26 inches, the Pro-Line pit
mat has a larger footprint than 1/8-scale-and-smaller
vehicles, yet tucks neatly into most large pit bags
and haulers. A thin layer of high-density foam on the
bottom stops it from sliding around, and a quick wipe
of the hard vinyl surface leaves no reason to cry over
spilled di; grease or shock oil. —Aaron Waldron
