A full bottle of spray degreaser is a lot of
bulk and weight to lug to the track when all
you need is a few squirts. Transfer some of
the cleaner to a travel bottle for easier pit-space portability.
Easy GPS Mounting
Instead of servo-taping your GPS unit into place, place it in a plastic bag and use a wrap of
electrical tape to secure it. Now your GPS is safe from dirt and moisture, and you won’t have
to scrape servo tape o; of it when you want to move it to another car.
Backup Nut Storage
If you’re using nut drivers with hollow handles, stash a few spare
nuts in the handle. If you lose a nut, you’ll have a replacement at the
ready, tucked away in the tool you’ll use to install it.
THE RICE TRICK
;is trick is best known for saving dunked
phones, but it’s great for any electronics
item, including a non-waterproof receiver,
speed control, or servo that is glitching
because it took an accidental dip. Shake out
as much moisture as you can, then bury the
component in a bowl of uncooked rice. Let
it sit for a day or two in a warm dry spot and
your gear should work as good as new.
