Orange-anodized accents give the Sprint
2 Sport a little more under-the-hood eye
appeal than the typical black on black.
;e cross-mounted battery leaves ample
chassis space for the waterproof speed
control and servo, but the receiver needs a
bulky box to hold the elements at bay.
;e Sprint 2 represents the classic touring-car tech that first put HPI on the map as a major RC player.
;e plastic double-deck chassis features molded-in sti;ening ribs and a shallow sill to bolster rigidity,
and the battery tray is configured to hold the included NiMH pack across the chassis so the front drive
belt can pass over it without rubbing the battery. ;e battery retainers are positioned for 6-cell packs,
but additional mounting holes allow them to be spaced farther apart to hold a 7-cell battery. In Porsche
911 trim, the Sprint 2 gets an exceptionally fat set of slicks on wide-o;set wheels that plump the car’s
width out to a full 210mm. Will this give the HPI machine a handling edge? We’ll see.
