VINTAGE TEAM ASSOCIATED RC10
Todd Hudson ›› Aus Tin, TX
Todd started his retro build around a natural G10 fiberglass chassis and tracked
down mint vintage parts, like the A&L trailing arms, AE-spec front arms and a
rear bulkhead to fit the trailing arms, and a pink Hot Trick nose plate. The 6-gear
transmission has a complete set of 48-pitch Thorp gears and a Jammin’ Jay
differential. There’s a Litesink blue motor plate and hardened JG outdrives. The
wheels are vintage Sees aluminum in mint condition.
CHINESE JEEP WRANGLER
sco T T Lemper T ›› commerce TownsHip, mi
The chassis is a GCM Tiny Trucks J2 skeleton kit, especially developed to fit
Chinese Jeep JK bodies that have shown up over the last couple years on eBay.
Power comes from a Holmes Hobbies 16T Crawlmaster Pro with a Castle speed
control. Scott dressed it up with extra hood detail and scratch-built bumpers. He
decked out the interior with a backlit dash, seatbelts, a CB radio, and a hi-lift jack
from Exclusive RC. It rolls on Pro-Line Hyrax 1.9s with Locked Up RC bead-locks.
AXIAL JEEP FC MONSTER TRUCK
pHiLLip reibeL ›› TAsmAniA, AusTrALiA
Phillip started with an Axial SCX10 kit, then threw a bunch of custom parts at it, mixing big rig and monster truck cues into this unique machine. Among the notable
items is the custom-built cantilever suspension using Traxxas Revo rockers and shocks. It also has a lift kit to clear the Imex Dawg tires on Tamiya 2. 2 chrome
wheels. He custom-made the roll cage, the vertical exhaust stacks, and his own 4-link setup.
He made the fuel tanks out of shock oil bottles—now that’s what we call recycling! The
electronics include a Hitec 985 steering servo, a Hobbywing speed control, and a Trackstar
13. 5 brushless motor running on 3S LiPos.
