DYNAMITe ProPHe T SPor T
QuATTro CHArger
Although this may make me sound the same age as dirt, I had the choice of only three chargers when I first got started in RC. Like everything else in our splendid obsession, over the years the choices for a new charger have become a dizzying array of brands, styles, capabilities, sizes, and features. With so many choices out there, the Dynamite Prophet
Sport Quattro stood out and caught my attention for two main reasons – raw charging horsepower
and ease of use. I run multiple classes at the track, and I also fly planes and helis, so an
AC/DC charger capable of charging four packs at up to 8A each at the same time is sure
to keep the fun going on a continual basis wherever I am. While I do enjoy radios and speed
controls with all the gizmos, gadgets, and programming settings, I still prefer simplicity
and ease of use in a charger. The Dynamite Prophet Sport Quattro delivers the “easy”
in spades, so let’s dive in and start cranking some serious amps.

Tes Ting
The Prophet sport Quattro can pump up to 8 amps through each of the four individual ports, for a true powerhouse in your pit.
Features
You can power up by either plugging in the included AC cord or by
connecting the DC cord to a car battery or power supply. To get
the amps flowing, just flick the switch for either LiPo, LiFe, or NiMH
chemistry, dial the charge rate, and hit the start button on any of
the four charging outputs. Four charging leads with EC3 connectors
installed are included, as well as XH balancing boards for balance
charging. The automatic cell count feature is a huge plus, as it’s one
less mistake to make when charging anything from a 1S pan car to 6S
1/5-scale packs. The ability to crank out 8A to four different packs at
the same time, and the simplicity of the process, makes me think of the
Dynamite Prophet Sport Quattro like a late ’60s muscle car – easy to
operate with horsepower to spare.
the verdict
To me, multiple-channel chargers with
high current and cell count capabilities
are exactly what I need to keep me
(and all my friends) on the track and
in the air all day. The bonus of its ease
of use puts the Quattro right over the
top in my book, and instantly earned
it a permanent place in my pit box.
After ripping through a few extreme
workouts with flying colors, it has
easily proven itself as the muscle car of
chargers. — Shawn Palmer
