ATOMIK RC MM450 DIRT BIKE
JOHN MCAR THUR ›› SAN TA MARIA, CA
By the looks of this highly detailed Supercross Champion Ryan
Villopoto replica, John is definitely a fan. He started with an Atomik
RC Metal Mulisha 450 dirt bike and hand painted it to look like Ryan’s
Kawasaki KX450F. He added a mirrored tint to the goggles, custom
polished chain tensioners, and made all the decals himself. To put his
Kawi on top of the 1/4-scale podium, John upgraded the stock rear
shock with a 16mm big bore shock and installed Fast Eddy ball bearings.
TRAXXAS SLASH 4X4 PLATINUM EDITION
CHRIS ANDERSON ›› MAPLEWOOD, MN
Around his neck of the woods, Chris is known as “Gorilla” ( we’re guessing because he’s big,
hairy, and eats bugs o; of his friends—but there’s no telling) and the truck pictured here is
the pride of his collection. He installed a Novak Ballistic 550 5.5-turn motor that’s powered
by a Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro speed control and controlled by a Spektrum DX3S
radio system. Motor, speed control, and radio would be enough for most, but Chris raised
the bar on his Slash by adding a Tekno RC center shaft and bones, RPM arms, body mounts
and bumpers, Lunsford titanium hingepins, and Pro-Line Gladiator tires. He finished o; his
Platinum Edition by painting the body using liquid mask for the first time and hand cut the
gorillas on the doors and the skull on the hood. Chris, that’s one decked-out Slash.
JAMMIN' CRT. 5
ERIC OLSEN ›› ANACOR TES, WA
Eric’s Jammin' CRT. 5 1/12 truck is like no other. Eric converted it to electric using parts from its 1/10
brother, the SCRT- 10 short course truck. He installed a Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro speed
control along with a Tekin SC4X 6.5-turn motor and added JConcepts Rulux wheels and Pro-Line
Badlands tires to put the power to the ground. Eric tells us his ride is the talk of the town when he
goes to the hobby shop or track, and we can see why. ;at’s one cool little truck there, Eric!
TRAXXAS BANDIT
GEORGE THOMPSON ›› FOR T PIERCE, FL
George’s Traxxas Bandit is built for speed! He tells us that
the Bandit is “the perfect drag racing chassis” and that
he’s equipped it with Traxxas Funny Car front wheels and
Anaconda rears on RPM wheels to get it down the strip.
Underneath, he installed a Castle Creations 7700Kv motor
and Mamba Max speed control along with a MaxAmps 3-cell
battery and Deans connectors. He finished o; his ballistic
Bandit with an RPM transmission housing, Integy rear hubs,
Schumacher Nitro Fusion front shocks, and a homemade
wheelie bar.

FUNNY CAR
JONATHAN MATHEWS
›› WARWICK, RI
;is truck, trailer, and dragster
combo from Jonathan in Rhode
Island is a labor of love. He spent
25 hours building the handmade
trailer out of aluminum to tow his
Traxxas Funny Car and detailed it
with Pro-Line scale accessories.
Up front the trailer is pulled by
his trusty Axial SCX10, which is
painted to match the John Force
paint scheme. ;is combo is all
show and all go!
