Floating Motor and
Servo Mounts
To deliver consistent
handling, it’s important that a
racecar’s chassis flex equally
when subjected to cornering
loads, whether turning left
or right. Motor and servo
mounts can act as sti;eners
and cause the chassis to be
more rigid in one direction
than another, which is why
the B64D uses “floating”
mounts for the servo and
motor. Each mount’s chassis
contact points straddle the
centerline symmetrically, so
flex is una;ected. ;e motor
and servo are cantilevered
o; their mounts, so they
“float” over the chassis—
hence, the term.

Extra-Adjustable
Suspension
Greater adjustability was
one of the objectives for the
B64 design, and Associated
has delivered with a full
array of tuning features.
Axle height, bump steer,
kick-up/anti-squat, roll
center, and Ackerman are
all fully adjustable, along
with the usual turnbuckle
camber and toe links, and
multiple shock positions
on the arms and towers.
Swaybars are standard, and
“hard” suspension arms can
be added to further refine
handling. Aluminum caster
blocks and 4mm carbon-fiber
shock towers are standard,
as are Associated’s latest V2
12mm big-bore shocks. It’s all
first-class stu;, as expected
of a Team car.
Three-Differential Shaft Drive
;e B64D is equipped with front, center, and rear gear di;erentials, each sealed and tunable by
varying the thickness of the fluid, as expected in a modern racecar. Steel dogbones link the di;s,
while steel CV-style shafts spin the wheels via 12mm machined-aluminum hexes. ;e center
access cover is removable with four screws, while the di;s at the front and rear unit are accessed
by a handful more, making maintenance and oil changes easy.
