800KV Brushless Motor
Spinning the drivetrain is a
very large 4.5x2.3-in. 800KV brushless motor. It uses a sensorless design and
long wires, along with 6.5mm connectors to attach it to the buggy’s speed control.
;e can has a textured finish and ribbed design to increase its surface area and
improve cooling. It also features a massive 8mm diameter output shaft. ;e rear
center di; mount is machined out of aluminum and is used to attach the motor
to the buggy’s drivetrain. Two screws attach it to a plate, and it slides in and out
of the center di; mount. Two more screws secure the assembly in place once the
gear mesh has been set.

8S Capable Speed Control
When you have a vehicle this big, with a drivetrain that
Maxxis Replica Tires
is pretty much unbreakable, you’ll want a power system
that can handle a lot, and that’s what you get with the DBXL-
E’s speed control. ;e 160-amp unit is able to handle up to 8S of LiPo
power and it has a peak current of 1050A. It’s a good thing that the speed
control is powering a 1/5-scale vehicle because it needs a lot of space to fit its
large 2.8x2.6-in. footprint. Mounting tabs and screws secure the speed control to the chassis. A large heat sink
is used to keep it cool while in use, and a large brushless fan further aids in cooling. You also get motor lockup
protection, low-voltage cuto;, thermal protection, overload protection, and a fail-safe. You can pick up an
optional programming card and change such functions as the running mode, max brake force, and punch.
Adding to the realism is a set of Maxxis
Creepy Crawler replica tires. ;ey add a cool
look and the all-terrain treads are great for
various surfaces. ;e tires come mounted
to new multi-spoke bead lock wheels and
support for the rubber come foam inserts.
