Mounting a receiver with tape is a hassle if you’re
swapping a receiver from model to model. Use a
piece of scrap Lexan or any flat plastic to make a
removable receiver mount. Cut the plastic slightly
longer than the receiver so you can mount it to the
chassis with a pair of screws.
Shock Tower Saver
Nothing chews up buggy shock towers and shock tops faster than rollovers on pave-
ment. You can spare your towers and shocks by mounting fender washers under the
shock screws. It looks a little goofy, but the washers will prevent your shocks and towers
from being ground down.
PREVENT BATTERY BOUNCE-OUT
If you’re running a nitro car with AA batteries for a
receiver pack, be sure to wrap the cell holder with
tape so that the batteries can’t bounce out and
cause a runaway car. ✇
Hex Driver Diff
;is one’s a classic. To test the
tightness of a ball di;erential
before installing it in the
gearbox, insert a pair of hex
drivers into the outdrives to
prevent them from turning
as you attempt to turn the
di; gear. It should be very
di;cult to slip.
